Billabong Team in NZ: Episode 2

This is the second in the Billabong trip to New Zealand clips that Woody is kindly sending us. The videos were taken when the guys were shooting the catalog last winter and they feature Anne-Flore Marxer , Scotty Lago, Shayne Pospisil, Wolle Nyvelt, Sylvain Bourbousson and our own Robbie Walker. Billabong International enters agreement with Swell.com

Swell, founded in 1999, is a leading online retailer in the US boardsport sector and sells many of the industry’s leading brands.

It's been a while since there's been an acquisition story, but with all the major players in the surf-lifestyle apparel wholesale business battling with the decision of whether or not to sell their products direct to consumers on the Internet, Billabong announced a creative solution to the dilemma on November 23 by acquiring Swell.com for an undisclosed sum.

People Nice Try Premier in Melbourne, Australia

Photos: Julius Kellar and Andy Harrington. Our Australian mates at Pop Magazine threw a huge premiere party for Nice Try over the weekend all the way down in Melbourne, Australia. Melbourne just happens to be Robbie Walkers home town, so you can guess how that went down. 240 people packed into the downtown Kaleide Theatre to drink free VB Raw's, get free DVD's from VAS and free loot from Billabong and K2 Snowboards. All in all, it sounds like the Aussie's liked the film. Besides the photos here, there's a bunch more over at the Pop website if you're in the mood. read more
