I have getting hassled to post something about Kelly Slaters’ victory in the Billabong Pipeline Masters (for the 6th time, but not for 9 years) the other day but if you watched the finals (booooring), you would know there were better achievements over the week. Joel Parkinson managed to take home both the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing title and a perfect 20 heat score, for only the second time in history (Shane Beschen scored 30 under the old system in 1996). In true Parko style, he was bouncing on a trampoline or something down the road during the finals and not on the beach biting his nails. Nice work Parko. (link)
